NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Despite the latest COVID surge, New York City’s Health and Hospital system will be able to perform elective surgeries.
Some initial government guidance earlier this week indicated such surgeries might have to be suspended.
But city hospitals say they can meet new rules making sure there are enough extra beds to handle a surge in COVID patients.
For now, important surgeries to keep people healthy can go forward.
