JERSEY CITY, N.J. (CBSNewYork) — A hawk was saved from the tracks and is in the hands of animal control.
Port Authority Police Officer Jordan Gonzalez took action after responding to a call early Friday morning about a large bird in distress.
He found the hawk on the tracks near the PATH Exchange Place station in Jersey City.
Gonzalez coordinated with track maintenance workers to safely capture and secure the bird.
