MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) — A 92-year-old woman is dead after a fire in Mount Vernon.
It happened at a home on East Prospect Avenue just before 5 p.m. on Tuesday.
Firefighters had to deal with brutally cold temperatures as they worked to get the flames under control.
One firefighter was injured after falling down some stairs.
It’s believe the woman died from smoke inhalation.
