NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — There’s an update on the co-owner of a Staten Island bar accused of striking an officer and defying coronavirus social distancing laws.
A grand jury has decided not to charge Daniel Presti with driving his Jeep at two sheriff’s deputies.
Instead, the owner of Mac’s Public House faces two misdemeanor counts for violating alcohol laws during the ban on indoor dining.
Security video shows Presti running to his Jeep and driving off with a deputy on the hood.
His lawyer claims Presti did not know the men were law enforcement and feared for his life.
