STAMFORD, Conn. (CBSNewYork) — Former Major League Baseball player and manager Bobby Valentine is running for mayor in his hometown of Stamford, Connecticut.
He’s on the ballot as an unaffiliated candidate.
It’s a competitive race against Democrat Caroline Simmons, who upset the city’s two-term mayor in the primary.
