What to Watch the Week of August 25: A Crazy Good Two-Night ‘Bachelorette’ Event

[ad_1]

There’s also the new four-part docuseries After Baywatch: Moment in the Sun, airing on Hulu this Wednesday. It’s a fascinating Labor Day weekend watch, perfectly timed to the unofficial end of summer that’s fast approaching. From exclusive interviews to never-before-seen footage, Baywatch fans will no doubt love this deep dive down memory lane.

Also on Wednesday, Killer Lies: Chasing a True-Crime Con Man premieres on National Geographic (and then Hulu on Thursday). The three-part thriller tracks journalist Lauren Collins’s investigation into the rise and fall of a provocative French serial killer expert, Stéphane Bourgoin. It’s based on the original investigative story in The New Yorker that Collins wrote. You can see more on that below.

And I can’t forget you, Lord of the Rings fans. The Rings of Power returns for season two on Prime Video on Thursday. The trailer already has over 15 million views, so needless to say, it’s already shaping up to be a massive sophomore season.

On that note, I’ll see you back here for the three-hour Bachelorette finale next Tuesday (not Monday, as usual!), the movie Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, and the probable return of Taylor Swift at Kansas City Chiefs games now that the NFL kicks off the new season.

Monday, August 26

U.S. Open (ESPN/ESPN2): The men’s and women’s singles first round begins today, and continues through Sunday, September 8. 11 a.m. ET, 10 a.m. CT, 8 a.m. PT.

The Bachelorette (ABC): The eighth episode airs tonight as Jenn takes her three remaining guys—Devin, Marcus, and Jonathon—to Hawaii for the overnight dates in the fantasy suite. 8 p.m. ET/PT, 7 p.m. CT, streaming the next day on Hulu

Tuesday, August 27

Only Murders in the Building (Hulu): In season four, Charles, Oliver, and Mabel (our Emmy-nominated trio of Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez) wrestle with the shocking events at the end of last season surrounding Charles’s stunt double and friend, Sazz Pataki. As Charles, Oliver, and Mabel try to figure out if Sazz or Charles was the intended victim, they head to LA to meet famous people and eat In-N-Out. Well, kind of. You see, a Hollywood studio has expressed interest in a film about the Only Murders podcast. But they’re not in Hollywood for long (at least for now). They head back to New York, where more uncertainty and murder await.
