We are never ever ever blaming a woman for what a man does at his job. Like, ever.
Travis Kelce hasn't been playing his best football for the Kansas City Chiefs lately, and he just got real about why. Spoiler: it's not his girlfriend's fault.
In a recent episode of “New Heights,” the podcast he hosts with his brother Jason, who retired from the Philadelphia Eagles at the end of last season, Kelce admitted, “I played like trash.”
People who are more into sports can tell you the nitty gritty of what that means (he's supposed to catch more and run more, I think? Patrick Mahomes explains it better).
“Everyone saw my drop in the fourth quarter,” a chagrined Kelce admitted, assuring fans, “I’m gonna get it right, don’t worry.”
Travis Kelce is a tight end, which is a receiving position, which is something I had to have explained to me when my mom called him a receiver and I said, “no, mom, he's a tight end,” and she said, “Lizzie, a tight end is a receiving position,” so that was humbling.

Kelce blamed his iffy performance on “trying to do too much." Without making excuses, he noted, “With how defenses are playing us right now, I’m not getting a lot of opportunities.”
He said that despite their perfectly acceptable win/loss record so far this season, everyone on the Chiefs is looking to tighten up.
“Everyone’s just tweaking their game in the right direction…You’re gonna go through these ups and downs throughout the season," he said.
