If this is what Andrew Garfield’s first date with Amelia Dimoldenberg is gonna be like, the girls are gonna need Friday off.
During the eight-second teaser for his highly anticipated Chicken Shop Date interview, the 41-year-old actor bit his lip so flirtatiously that the comment section is “giggling and kicking my feet” on the 30-year-old host’s behalf—and the clip was only posted a few hours ago. “I feel like I’m intruding just watching this small clip 😳🫣🫣,” one user commented on Dimoldenberg’s TikTok post, which already has 1.7 million views.
Another wrote, “I’m so sorry if Andrew Garfield said hi and then did that with his face AT ME I would simply pass away. This is what rom-coms and fanfics base entire stories off of.”

Of course, fans of both Brits have been waiting for this interview since their flirty banter at the GQ’s Men of the Year Awards went viral in November 2022…and again at the Golden Globes just a couple months later. In fact, Chicken Shop Date viewers could barely contain their excitement when Dimoldenberg announced the actor’s upcoming appearance on her celebrity interview series just a few days ago.
And no, it doesn’t help that many of Andrew Garfield’s fans just learned of his split from Kate Tomas when it started making headlines on October 13. As one fan who received more than 11,000 likes on their comment wrote: “It’s the fact that I saw E! News post 17hr ago about Andrew Garfield and Dr. Kate Tomas break up and then THIS COMES OUT? COINCIDENCE???”
The answer to that is probably yes. According to People, Tomas recently told an Instagram commenter that she and Garfield actually “broke up months ago.” With that in mind, some fans are very comfortable shipping “Spider-Man and Chicken-Girl” with abandon. “I’m convinced this will be the last Chicken Shop Date since they are obviously meant for each other and will never date anyone else again,” one Instagram user commented on the teaser. Another replied, “You’ll never convince me they aren’t soul mates.”
If this is how we respond to an eight-second clip, I’m not sure how we’ll survive the entire eight-minute interview on October 18. Godspeed.
