Jennifer Garner Recreated an Iconic 13 Going on 30 Scene, Complete With the Original ‘Thriller’ Dress

[ad_1]

Everybody pack it in. Yes, even you, Heidi Klum, because Jennifer Garner has just won Halloween with her recreation of Jenna Rink's iconic “Thriller” dress from 13 Going on 30.

In a video posted to her Instagram and TikTok, Garner recreated the entire getting ready scene—just updated for 2024. In the getting ready scene from the original movie, Jenna struggles to apply fake eyelashes, applies several layers of bright pink blush, and appears confused by a lacy black-and-red thong while Whitney Houston's “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” plays in the background.

In her modern adaptation, (with the same Whitney Houston song in the background) Garner pats skin care onto her cheeks, struggles to apply eyeliner while wearing her glasses, and holds up a pair of Spanx with the same bewildered expression she wore in the movie 20 years ago. The clip ends with Garner emerging from her closet wearing the same colorful striped Versace dress from the film (or, at least, a damn good replica), along with the bright blue butterfly pendant necklace. But while Jenna Rink paired her dress with strappy heels and an updo, Garner this time opted for sneakers and tube socks with her hair down.

She wrote in the caption, “Happy 20th Halloween, Jenna Rink. 💕”

Now, I'm just patiently awaiting a follow-up of Jennifer Garner leading the “Thriller” dance.
