Comedy-loving Sabrina Carpenter fans were treated to an SC/SNL crossover at her latest concert, where she mock-arrested Domingo, a.k.a. SNL's Marcello Hernández.
Domingo is a new character Hernández originated just a month ago when Ariana Grande hosted Saturday Night Live. In the sketch, a group of bridesmaids perform Carpenter's hit “Espresso” with the lyrics changed to explain that the bride had a fling with a man named Domingo during the bachelorette trip, before Hernández appears, Domingo in the flesh. He reprised the role during Charli XCX's episode, in a sketch about the same woman, now married and pregnant, hooking up with Domingo again during a trip to Miami, all conveyed via Chappell's Roan's “Hot To Go” (D-O-M-I-N-G-O).
Via the lyrics, we also learn that Domingo is a doctor, “randomly a model” and volunteers with “weird, sick animals.”
During Carpenter's tour stop in Inglewood, California, fans got to see Carpenter flirt with “Domingo” (Marcello Hernández) from the stage before she had him “arrested,” a long-running a gag from her tour (it's the sexy-sassy version of the “22” hat). We have to wonder if any Carpenter fans who don't happen to watch SNL were confused about who the guy in the blue jacket was—if that's you, hope this helps.
