Angel City FC midfielder Kennedy Fuller is a nominee for U.S. Soccer’s Young Female Player of the Year award.
Fuller, who turned professional this season, was a key performer for the U.S. U-17 level in the CONCACAF U-17 Championship and the U-17 World Cup.
At the World Cup, Fuller scored four goals and added three assists, taking home the Silver Boot as the tournament’s second-best scorer.
Fuller’s category also includes two other professionals: Claire Hutton (Kansas City Current) and Ally Sentnor (Utah Royals). Trinity Armstrong, who played in the U-17 World Cup, and Jordyn Bugg (U-20 World Cup) are the other nominees.
Fuller, who signed a three-year deal with Angel City on March 6 at the age of 16, made her debut 11 days in the team’s season opener. Fuller appeared in 23 games in her first season, scoring two goals.
Fans can vote for the winners in this category at ussoccer.com, along with U.S. Soccer Female and Male Player of the Year, Young Male Player of the Year, Game of the Year, and Male and Female Referee of the Year.
Voting concludes Dec. 13. The fan vote is 15% of the tally, with the rest coming from national team players and coaches, media and “other constituents.”
Madison Curry departs
Madison Curry, who was drafted out of Princeton by Angel City in the third round of last season’s NWSL draft, signed a three-year contract with the Seattle Reign.
Curry, who is a Coto de Caza native and attended Santa Margarita High, made 22 appearances as a rookie for Angel City.
“I’m excited for the opportunity to join the Reign and be a part of this incredible community in Seattle,” Curry said. “This club has a standard of excellence, and I’m ready to get started and contribute to that standard as much as possible in 2025 and beyond.”
