Honestly, it took me a minute to realize Angelina Jolie went barefoot on The Tonight Show.
On December 5, Jolie returned to the late night talk show circuit for the first time in 10 years—and couldn't find comfortable enough shoes to mark the occasion. However, it took Jimmy Fallon pointing out her lack of footwear for me to even notice the 49-year-old actor was missing a key part of any ensemble. It turns out, all Jolie needed to promote her new film, Maria, was a classic black boat neck dress and a black cherry pedicure.
Of course, there was a practical reason for Jolie's decision to ditch Carrie Bradshaw's favorite accessory altogether. “I broke my toe yesterday, and I tried to find a comfortable shoe, but I just decided to not,” she told Fallon.
Perhaps it was the elegant way Jolie was sitting—with her feet arched as if held up by an invisible heel like a standard issue Barbie—or her sheer confidence that allowed the power move to go unnoticed.
